Dear Standing Stone Care & Rehab,
I’m already amazed at the fact that a whole week has passed since my daddy, Charles “Chick” Davis passed away. I don’t want to let another day go by without expressing my thanks to you all for the superb care you gave my dad… for in caring so graciously and compassionately for him, you cared for my mom (DeeDee) and me, too! In fact our whole extended family-who came to visit (& sing!) the day after Thanksgiving-were impressed as well: You ALL… from the CEO to the CNA’s… showed day in and day out that you take great delight in honoring and serving those in your care. Thank you for making this the “norm” at Standing Stone!!
Thank you, too, for going “above and beyond” as we journeyed with Dad through his final days and hours. It blessed my mom, aunt, husband, and me so much for you to allow us both privacy and even the use of a spare bed that last night! And it touched our hearts that sweet Deanna-after her 12 hour shift overnight-eagerly offered to stay an extra 30+ minutes to take care of Dad’s body after he breathed his last and went to be with Jesus. It meant so much for so many of you to stop in, share condolences, and yet celebrate with us, too, that Dad is free of his broken mind and body now, and whole because he’s now with our Lord and Savior Jesus! That hope-because Dad trusted in Christs’ finished work on the cross-gives us so much peace and joy, even as we miss him. Thanks so much for sharing in that with us.
The fact that my mom knew so many of you, and was known by you, on a first name basis is yet another testimony to your genuine compassion for those in your care and for their families, too. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!! May the Lord bless you all…
Love, Alicia (Davis) Clark & family
