Elders Participate in Camping Adventure

What could be more fun than ghost stories around the campfire? Possibly a Duct Tape Fashion Show! Elders from 3 Mid TN homes spent an evening at Standing Stone State Park Lodge in Celina, TN last week participating in the region’s third annual camping trip.

This year’s theme was  “Jaws-Take a Bite Out of Life” . The evening’s activities included a duct tape fashion show, surfboard design, ghost stories and the annual hot dog roast! While participants loved all of the activities provided during the evening, the duct tape fashion show was indeed the fan favorite! During the fashion show, teams had one hour to create beach clothing out of duct tape for two team members to model in the fashion show. Everyone loved “strutting” their stuff down the catwalk and showing off their newest fashions!

Truly by attending the camping trip, our Elders were taking a bite out of life. We can never overlook the fact that providing our Elders with the opportunity to grow and live life to the fullest is among the most important work we will ever do.

The homes who participated in this year’s event were Pickett Care and Rehab, Westmoreland Care and Rehab, and Standing Stone Care and Rehab.
