Our new enabled gardens were donated and constructed by members from our community, Dean and Robert Vaughn, filled with donations from our neighbor, Betty Phillips, and completely planted and tended by our elders that are members of our Watering Can Club. The garden was designed to be completely accessible by those in wheelchairs, and who need assistance in standing. The height and width are such that the elders tending the plants can access the entire width of the bed. They are also accessible from all sides so that multiple folks can work at the same time. The garden enables our elders to take care of the plants, watch them grow, and hopefully enjoy the fruit of their labor in a few months.
