Shirley Murphy says it’s always nice to visit friends, especially when they are like family.  Mrs. Murphy has a lot of friends here at Signature HealthCARE’s Standing Stone Care & Rehabilitation Center, and there is no wonder.  She started her career here in 1984 and worked proudly in the dietary department until 2007.  Standing Stone holds a very special place in her heart, because “it was a place that [she] loved, and that loved [her] right back.”  So she let her love loose in all she accomplished here, from decorating the front entrance every year at Christmas to cooking for and serving residents.  During her career here she made countless friends, one of which she still considers to be one of her most beloved friends (which includes our administrator Mrs. Joyce Hicks).

According to Mrs. Shirley, Standing Stone Care & Rehabilitation Center is a wonderful place that helps countless others when they need rehabilitation, and its home like environment puts residents at ease so they can focus on getting better.  People like Mrs. Shirley are truly rare because not only did she work at Standing Stone all those years, but she recently became one of its short-term residents following a recent procedure.  Mrs. Shirley said she wouldn’t go anywhere else, because she knows firsthand the dedication and love that the staff has for all the people that enter its doors. That’s why Standing Stone was her only choice.  She got to enjoy one of the many comfortable and spacious private rooms that Standing Stone offers, as well as the incredible nursing and therapy services she received while here.  She made significant progress that enabled her to return to her real home with her family.

Mrs. Shirley is a loving mother and anyone who witnesses her with her children would recognize that immediately. After all, Mrs. Murphy says that she is extremely proud of her beautiful family, which includes her two adoring sons. We at Signature are always proud to help those who need us because we truly care and Mrs. Shirley epitomizes the love and dedication we bring to resident lives every single day.
